1. A - Aggressors
Aggressors are high-impact players who take risks to dominate the opposition from the start. They are usually found at the top of the batting order or as strike bowlers.
Batting: Focus on high strike rates and boundary-hitting to put the bowling side under pressure immediately.
Bowling: Fast bowlers or aggressive spinners who prioritize taking wickets over containing runs.
2. T - Technicians
Technicians are the "anchors" of the team. They rely on solid defense, classical shot selection, and high levels of concentration.
Batting: They excel at playing long innings, rotating the strike, and stabilizing the team if early wickets fall.
Bowling: Bowlers who rely on precise line, length, and subtle variations rather than raw pace or mystery.
3. M - Match-Winners
These are the X-factor players who can change the course of a game in a very short span of time. They often perform best under high-pressure situations.
Batting: Finishers who can chase down huge totals or power-hitters in the death overs.
Bowling: Death-over specialists or "mystery" spinners who can break crucial partnerships when the game is slipping away.
4. A - Adaptable
Adaptable (also known as All-rounders or Versatile) are players who can adjust their game based on the match situation.
Role: They can play as an Aggressor or a Technician depending on what the scoreboard requires.
Versatility: This category includes genuine all-rounders who contribute significantly with both bat and ball, as well as flexible middle-order batters.
The Profile: These players are usually in the team for their specialized bowling or wicket-keeping skills, not their batting prowess.
The "Tail": Collectively, these three or four players are called "the tail."
The Objective: When a tail-ender comes to the crease, their goal is usually to "wag" (score unexpected runs) or simply survive long enough to let a more skilled batter score.
